Spa Risk Management

The Resort Hotel Association (RHA) partnered with the International SPA Association (ISPA) and the ISPA Foundation to develop a risk management program for spas.

The risk management program consists of two tools: 

  1. The Code of Conduct [pdf]
    The code is a consumer's guide to understanding their rights and responsibilities of both the spa and themselves. This information empowers the spa-goer with the rights they should expect at any spa they visit, as well as their responsibilities to ensure their satisfaction, comfort and safety. Spas are encouraged to share the Code of Conduct with their guests and promote its usage.
     
  2. The e-learning course, Risk Management for Spas
    This course provides members and the industry with introductory information to manage safer and more effective spa operations for their employees and guests. It also provides education on how to achieve the basic rights that spa consumers are expecting when visiting a spa, such as the right to a clean, safe and comfortable environment.  The target audience for this introductory course is spa managers.
