The RHA Story

The Resort Hotel Association was organized in 1987 by a group of resort owners and managers to develop and administer Insurance Products and Risk Management Services customized to the needs of the resort industry. RHA’s focus is on meeting the collective interests of our Members.

As hoteliers, we understand the unique hospitality exposures of an independently operated property and we work to protect the assets of our Membership. While we represent a collection of properties across North America, RHA remains dedicated to the Risk Management of each individual Member.

Senior Manager, Insurance Operations

As a tenured insurance professional with almost thirty years of experience, April’s area of expertise has specific concentration administering numerous lines of insurance for large national programs within well-known fortune 500 companies. As Senior Manager of Insurance Operations, April’s role includes oversight of the casualty program, developing and executing processes, workflows, and deliverables to improve the Member experience.

SENIOR MANAGER, PROPERTY PROGRAM

Tammy joined RHA in 2000. Her responsibilities include collection and review of submission data for the property, pollution and executive liability renewals; underwriting and submission of new business to program brokers, including loss analysis and the final proposal to the retail broker; binders, policies, endorsements, reconciliation of insurance-related invoices and property claims. Prior to joining RHA, Tammy was employed at United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company (USF&G)/St. Paul, for almost nineteen years.

BETH HARRIS
Marketing Director

Beth is responsible for supplying the Membership with a robust Risk Management and Insurance platform to access critical information, education, services, tools, and offerings unique to RHA. Prior to the insurance industry, she had a tenured career in medical device sales focusing on surgical and post-operative care in cardiology and orthopedics, winning numerous awards. Beth graduated from the University of Georgia and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.

Brian leads all Membership Risk Management functions, projects, processes, and initiatives, and he has over twenty years of experience specializing in risk and insurance. His experience includes Risk Management within the Hospitality Industry and over ten years of Insurance Claims leadership in the property and casualty insurance marketplace. Brian graduated from Alma College with a degree in Organizational Communications and he also received his Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Northwood University.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

With over 20 years of experience, Bill oversees all of RHA’s financial operations. Bill is an accomplished accounting professional who has gained depth of experience from numerous industries, in all facets of accounting and finance, with particular emphasis placed on analysis, problem solving, and process improvements. Bill graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Accounting and has been a licensed CPA since 2003.

ELIZA BOSWORTH
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

In addition to coordinating the daily workings of RHA and supporting the president, Eliza is responsible for the RHA Board of Directors and numerous project management assignments varying in scope and length. Prior to RHA, Eliza worked in graphic and interior design. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Art & Advertising.

MELANIE DUPRIEST

In her role, Melanie applies her vast experience in placing property, casualty, and executive liability coverages to ensure the continued success of the RHA Program(s) for the benefit of the Membership. Prior to joining RHA, she was a commercial insurance broker with Marsh & McLennan Agency. Melanie attended both Randolph Macon College and Virginia Commonwealth University where she majored in Business Economics and Business Administration respectively.
